It’s a brand new year and with it comes HOPE for a brighter tomorrow. I’m still on holiday mode since my work as a teacher is yet to begin on monday. So here I am relishing the last few days of vacation. I have so much to be grateful for in 2016 (and so much more to blog) but let me dedicate this post to the last few days of 2016 and how it has truly captured what is really important for me. In one word, it’s FAMILY.
Before the year ended, we found ourselves going on an impromptu trip to Osaka, Japan. My first time in Japan was when my mom, sister and I went to Tokyo in the middle of snowstorm! It was great being with more family members this time. So much to share about this trip and the other trips we took this year. Hopefully, will find more time to blog more this 2017.
We also got a wonderful gift when my nephew/godson Bob came for a visit. Bob is the first grandson in our family therefore our original “baby.” It was great to see Joaquin so comfortable with his eldest cousin even if this trip was only the 2nd time that they have met. The only other time that all the Ramirez cousins were complete was when we had a family trip in August last year.
This is our official Christmas 2016 greeting taken at Universal Studios, Osaka, Japan. Joaquin got his very first dinosaur – Triceratops!
We then spent the New Year with the Magtibays in Lucena. It was nice having a staycation in a hotel in the city. The kids ran around, swam in the bathtub, watched movies and enjoyed the fireworks around the city.
So there. It was a wonderful 2016 for me. And spending the final days of 2016 with family was a bonus gift from God. I am excited how 2017 will turn out. For sure, more family moments will be high on my list of what to look forward to in 2017!
