Good morning cloudy day! It was the perfect morning to run around outdoors!
Joaquin’s Ninang Steph invited us over for a playdate with John Paul at the Manila Polo Club. Both are them are in the toddler stage so they are filled with curiosity and energy in exploring anything and everything around them. At first, it was just the playground area where they played on the slides, see-saws and this “vehicle” that the 2 boys really enjoyed. It was a good thing that they had their turns with it!
After a few minutes, the 2 boys were led by their Ninang Steph to the big, empty field where they played with the ball.
Here’s our little Joaquin enjoying his giant playground! He was actually running, kicking the ball then running towards it again. Hmmm…. a future soccer play, perhaps? I think we should be enrolling him in future soccer classes too.
Being toddlers naturally makes them very, very, very active. They just simply have all this energy in them. And running is something Joaquin likes to do a lot. Even in the limited space at home, you can find him running around! So imagine how happy he was when he had this field where he can run around to his heart’s content. It was also very relaxing to tell him to go and run as far as he wants to because it was a safe area to do so.
With all the running around that Joaquin did, he used up 5 shirts (all drenched in sweat) in 2 hours! My husband & I would always tell each other that we’d get a lot of exercise if we just run around with Joaquin. But then we do make a lot of excuses (haha). Two of these excuses is not having the proper footwear for this and having no time to go shopping for that! So one thing I tried to do is to try to find some comfy footwear online. I found great discounts on Women’s Sneakers over at Zalora. Maybe with it, I can actually hit two birds with one stone — spend quality play time with Joaquin while getting the much needed exercise as well! :)
After that morning filled with running, the boys were definitely tired and hungry! We all enjoyed some delightful pizza (and fries) to cap their playdate.
And as if on cue, as we rode the car, they boys were knocked out from all the running around. We’ll be looking forward to more play dates in the future! :)
