I spent last weekend in Cagayan de Oro with my dear friends to attend the wedding of a couple close to our hearts.
When the plans for this was finalized over a month ago, I already knew what #hashtag I was going to use. Anna, Bambi, Chinky and Des are going to Cagayan de Oro so the official hashtag would be #ABCDinCDO! :)
It started off on an exciting note. Our flight was at 10am last Friday. Waking up at 5:30am, we were greeted with the continuous pouring rain brought about by typhoon #MarioPH. There was the anxiety if our trip was going to push through. But after 2 hours of delay, we were off to CDO!
We arrived in CDO at aroung 2pm. And we basically had a free friday afternoon to simply relax and hang-out there. We headed to Centrio Mall were we had our late lunch at 4pm. We wanted to steer clear of restaurants that can be found in Manila as well. So we opted to go to a local one, Candy’s Cafe. Try the Calzone and the Carbonara. You won’t be dissapointed with it. We ended the meal perfectly on a sweet note with Tiramisu. Yummmmy!
A pretty little corner at Candy’s Centrio
Tiramisu for the win!
Our other agenda for the relaxing afternoon was to have our nails done in time for the wedding. We had our nails done at the Nailaholics Salon & Spa. The best bonding moments really happen when girls have their nails done! I loved the hues of blue all over the place. Since my dress was light blue, I opted to have dark blue nails to go with it too.
The next day was our super relaxing morning. We spent the entire morning at our Family Room at the Prawn House. We got a room with two queen beds perfect for #ABCDinCDO. You can imagine how fun it was for 4 girls to stay in a room! Endless chitchat and laughter galore! Our Saturday morning was literally spent inside the room! Oh we enjoyed staying in bed with the cool aircon on and just watched Man of Steel on HBO! We had breakfast in our rooms and since we were at the Prawn House, they gave us complimentary shrimps to go with it!
The wedding was at 3pm and we had appointments at the Salon de Rose parlor in SM CDO at 12. Since our place was literally 3 minutes away, we didn’t start moving until 11 in the morning! We all literally haven’t done that in a while (with the hubbies, kids and work waking us up early! haha) So lounging around in our pajamas was really such a welcome change for us ladies! :)
This is my make-up transformation for the wedding! :) Say hi to the first time Wedding Ninang! :)
Here we are with the dashing groom
Wedding are really wonderful events to attend because they are celebrations of love. I’ve known Marlon and Cris from my fulltime worker days with Youth & Singles for Christ. They’re both only a couple of years younger than I am so when Cris asked if she could call me Ninang Chinky, I was kind of hesistant. My initial reaction was that, “Am I that old?!” (haha) But seriously, when I am asked to be a Baptismal Ninang, I feel honored and privileged. On being a first time Wedding Ninang, I felt the same.
I really hope and pray that Wally & I will be good examples of a good Christian Marriage to Marlon and Cris. This may be God’s way of making sure that we work hard at our own marriage, entrusting our relationship to Him and live up to our own love and commitment for one another.
First embrace as husband & wife
God bless you Marlon & Cris on the new chapter of your lives! May you always inspire each other to be better versions of yourselves. May your love and commitment to each other define the days of your life. And may God always be at the center of your married and future family life! We’re looking forward to little mini-mes in the future!
(Oh and super thank you for the weekend get-away too!) #ABCDinCDO
