We’ve been busy from mid-october to mid-november that we honestly weren’t able to make time to have our bi-monthly date nights. Yes, we should always make a constant effort to make time for it. But the circumstances just made it difficult. Between the yaya’s one month disappearance and temporarily staying in my parents’ house, it was next to impossible!
When our helper finally returned and we were able to move back to our humble abode, things were slowly going back to our normal grind. We then decided to have a long-awaited date night on the last Wednesday of November.
We were planning to buy some Christmas decors around that time too so we decided to hit two birds with one stone. We were both coming from work so we decided to just meet in the mall. We’d have an early dinner then buy the Christmas decors before heading home.
It sounded like a good plan and we were both excited for it.
Well, our date didn’t start out well. Blame it on the low cellphone signal, crowded mall and the terrible traffic just to get there.
But even with that, we decided that we would not let it spoil the evening.
Our date nights have been out of our routine for some time that we forgot who was in-charge. AKA who would choose where will we eat and what the topic would be. We ended up having our lovely date at Chilis. I am just charmed by the place, comfort food and beautiful memories. Wally thought of a topic on the spot. It was rather a cute and practical topic for us to discuss. Our date night topic was ways that we can help each other health-wise. Yes the varied range of topics makes date night truly special.
So, here’s sharing with you our resolutions.
Less of the following –
1. Rice. Intake to only once a day – breakfast or lunch only.
2. Processed foods. This is extra difficult for Wally since loves hotdogs
3. Sweets. This is extra difficult for me since I have a sweet tooth.
4. Colored drinks.
More of the following –
2. Wheat bread
3. Drink more water
DO More of the following
1. Start with an exercise video at home twice a week. It would be more fun since Joaquin will surely be joining us.
2. Walk more. I will be using the stairs as often as possible going up 4th floor for my classes.
All are seemingly practical and simple resolutions but the great part here is doing it together and helping each other on the path to better health.
So, here’s to a healthier 2014 ! Cheers!
